Important announcement regarding COVID-19 pandemic:
The NNPSS Local Organizing Committee, INT, NSF, and NNPSS steering committee are monitoring closely the COVID-19 pandemic. The current assesment is that NNPSS 2020 is still in place, but we understand that this may change given the fluidity of the situation. Hence, the application deadline has been extended to April 30, with results announced before May 15, 2020.
The National Nuclear Physics Summer School (NNPSS) has been held each summer since 1988, with the exception of 1994 and is a world class leading summer doctoral school on Nuclear physics. It is designed for second and third year experimental or theoretical Nuclear physics graduate students who are well into a research project or researchers in their first postdoc position. The program includes lectures and special topic seminars by internationally renowned physicists, and is intensive and friendly. The students are selected on a competitive basis from each year’s pool of applicants.
The 2020 edition will be held at the UNIVERSUM in the Central Campus of Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (Mexico City, Mexico), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, organized jointly by Indiana University through its Global Initiative and its Mexico Gateway and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
